Vancouver, BC, August 19, 2002 -- Antarctica Systems Inc, a pioneer developer of information visualization software, is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Yates as President and CEO, as well as two new Directors: Bryan Plug of Saratoga, CA and Lyle A. Wharton of Vancouver, BC. Prior to joining Antarctica, Barry Yates was the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing for Delano Technology Corporation, an eMarketing software company. Mr. Yates joined Delano in 1998 and helped grow the company from 0 to over $US30 million in annual revenues before its recent acquisition by divine. Mr. Yates also has over 10 years of experience as a senior Management Consultant at Bain & Company, KPMG and A ccenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). Antarctica's Founder, Tim Bray, will assume the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Mr. Yates has also been appointed to the Board of Directors. Lyle Wharton currently sits on the boards of a number of Vancouver area technology companies. He is the former CEO of Fincentric (formerly Prologic Corporation) and Westronic Inc. (acquired by Harris Corporation).
